Hi everyone, has anyone here had experience attending their medical with Dr. Randall Lee in Scarborough, ON? We booked an appointment with them for next week.

Also, does anyone know if they require passport photos? We're planning to just have two 2x2 photos taken for our interview only.

Thanks!

This is incorrect. Please check the forum before replying in each country does things differently. In Canada the only doctor who doesn't required passport photos to be brought with you is Dr. Cheema in Surrey as they take their own. All others require passports photos to be brought with you.

I just called them and asked if they required photos and they said no. Is it possible that they may have changed their policy?

Also- I didn't have time to get my titers test done for myself so there is no way to check my Varicella immunity. I've already received Tdap, MMR, and COVID-19 though. Hopefully Dr. Randall Lee's office can do that test for me at the medical. My interview isn't until June 27th so I think I should have enough time to get everything I need.

Always a possibility, but bring them just incase. As for varicella - have you ever had chicken pox? If so they just want to know when you had them. They will not do the titers test and many offices do not offer vaccines. You would have your medical put on hold if they don't offer them, and then you have to get it through the health unit or your family doctor. Fax it back to them and then they will send it on over.

Thank you, and good idea. We'll take them in case.

And yes, I had chickenpox as a kid, which is probably why I never received the Varicella vaccine. I attended school in Ontario from K-12, so I received all my vaccines here. I have an immunization record from the region I live in (it's a yellow one), it shows Tdap and MMR. I didn't end up getting the signed vaccination paper from my doctor so hopefully that immunization record will be enough .

Perfect so you just need a rough idea on when you had chicken pox. Like your age or grade and they write it down. I just used our yellow cards too. It was my 4 kids and myself. The youngest I had to go to the health unit to start the Hep B series as they don't give it in Canada until grade 7.

Oh interesting, perfect I'll ask my mom when I had it, I think she has the month/year.

Thanks for your help!

All four of my kids had chicken pox at the same time. It was funny when I was telling the doctor as I had to go by the youngest's age to figure out when they had it.

You're welcome

Oh wow hahaha, same here. Apparently I had it first, then we went to the doctor and they told us that my brother is very likely to get it next, and he did. Should be a pretty straight forward process when explaining it to the medical examiner.

I used Dr. Lee for my medical in January and it was very good, very easy.  He will take a verbal for chicken pox, the rest he will look at the vaccination proof.  Also, when the bloodwork came back, they called and let me know I needed to get a MMR booster, so they must check immunity on some/all of the things you need to be vaccinated against.  I got the shot at a walk-in clinic and emailed the receipt and all was good, they sent off to the Consulate and everything went good.  It was faster than many others getting medicals done at the same time with other Dr.'s.

They don't offer any vaccines there at all. I did not need any photo's either.  I would recommend him and sure yours will go fine.

Didn't get a chance to reply but thank you, this is very reassuring. Ours is next week but our interview isn't until 6/27. Hopefully that should give us enough time to get it all done. Glad it went well for you!

Hey everyone, we just had our medical (will update the details later). But heads up, Hepatitis B vaccine is now required for those 18-59 years old (apparently that requirement was added very recently, like last week).
