My hubby just got out here from Spain a month ago. Since we are having our religious wedding in August, we had our bachelor/bachelorette parties this past Saturday. We both had great nights ....until the end. He was with one of my good buddies and they were waiting for the cab home. All of a sudden a fight breaks out and though my hubby tried to avoid it, it somehow encompassed him and some jackass punched him in the face. Why would someone just punch an innocent bystander in the face? My hubby was knocked down and was just gushing blood. The two rival groups jumped in their respective taxis and took off. We brought him to urgent care and now 12 stiches later, he's not feeling too hot about the USA. I think all he wants to do is go home. I was with my friends in a hotel, so I didnt' even find out about it until the next morning. He said he was just looking at his broken face in the mirror and crying saying "WHY WHY WHY? What am I doing here?!"

I hate drunk guys who need to prove their manliness by fighting.

Well, I think this scenario could have happened anywhere in the world, to be honest.

Whilst true, it is also understandable why the fiance feels badly towards the US. For example, I had many happy experiences in SE Asia when I travelled there. I also had ####### ones. It was always those times that I wondered what the hell I was doing there.

Yah, I agree. All I think of when I read this is, if it had been in Jamaica, they would've ended up throwing rocks at each other till everyone was bloody!

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

I too think this could have happened anywhere in the world, however I am sorry that it happened to your fiance and at his bachelor party too.

I hope he recovers from this quickly.

1 punch in the face = 12 stitches?

Someone "just punched" him?

I'm sorry but it sounds like your husband is not telling you the whole story.

My best friend and brothers were there with him. He is a non-violent person, why would he lie? 12 stiches happens when your forehead and nose swell up so bad and you're left with a Frankenstein crack down the face.

You've never seen a fight break out and innocent people get trapped in between?

Thanks to everyone else for the support, we'll get through it. I keep telling him it could have happened back home in our town in Spain as well.

Unfortunately it happens, this was not an unusual scene in the town centre on a weekend when I lived in the UK.
