So the original we were given an RFE so we had to supply a number of documents for the RFE so the makes the total number of pages to USCIS about 400. As for the business it it a legitimate business and he has helped me with the business side... NOT a means to earn a living but a project we have wanted to set up together. For our additional evidence we have not gone over board with evidence.

What kind of RFE did they ask?

The business thing kind of feels like you are walking a tightrope there, but then again I don't work for USCIS so what do I know😁

As for the 400 pages, still seems like a TON. I have watched some youtube of people putting together their information before I started and the most I ever saw anyone do was maybe 30 pages and that seemed like a lot.

They asked for more proof of our relationship, some timeline questions, questions about our travel (our lawyer thinks they might have lost some of our original document submitted as they asked for our travel history which we already provided in the original application. They wanted to know why we had not met up more frequently so we had to provide all the evidence that the boarders were shut down. We had basically answered all the questions they asked, they just wanted more detail. So that we gave them.

So our original document to USCIS was more reasonable in length, I dont know how we could provide what we needed to provide in 30 pages. As for our additional evidence for the embassy interview, we have about 30 pages.

Just out of curiosity, is your lawyer an immigration lawyer or does he specialize in another type of law?

I also filed using an immigration attorney but the list of required documentation he wanted from my fiance and I was about 20 pages at most.

I read many people met only one time and they get approved without any issue

We are using an immigration lawyer. Again the original packet sent was not too long, however the RFE asked for a lot more proof and evidence. That is where our pages went up. USCIS already approved us so the number of pages at this point doesn't matter. The evidence we have for the embassy follows closely the guidelines they sent us in terms of what the embassy asked for and then additional evidence of our ongoing relationship which is from our trip and ongoing communication between us and us and each others family, his communication with my daughter etc. No more than 30 pages. Our focus now is on the interview.  We have met 3 times

My impression for my interview was that this was the first  time he had seen the file as he spent most of the time flicking back and forwards with just a couple of questions

400 pages would take all day

YMMV

The very best evidence ANYONE can provide is that of time actually spent together.  This is especially important for some countries The US embassy in Algeria even has a page dedicated to fraud.

So I have had many conversation with his mom and siblings and we have photos of them all. She completely approves of this relationship. Also he has never wanted children... I do have 2 children, my son is out of the house but my daughter is 14. He and my daughter have developed a nice relationship and we have photos of their exchanges.

Indeed I agree, we would have spent more time together but COVID had other ideas. The good news is I spent 23 years in the foreign service posted oversees (with USAID not State but posted at embassies none the less). I retired from the FS and am now a University professor. He is a lawyer with a masters degree in Economics and very well educated and did some work with some folks for State before we left and as it turns out we have some mutual friends we did not even know about (folks we met through work). He is a fluent English speaker and I am a fluent French and Arabic speaker and we have significant interests in commons (favorite authors, values etc etc) I say all this as he is not typical from his country nor am I. We are able to overcome many of the points raised by the embassy but the age difference is there. Despite that difference, we are very connected and committed.

Is he allowed to work in the US?

At this point yes,  he is not in the US going by our rules

Can US companies hire foreign workers? Yes, US companies can hire foreign workers either as full-time employees or independent contractors, with the option of either working remotely in their home country or relocating to the US with the relevant labor certification and visa.

Some possible questions:

How did you meet your fiancé? If he chooses not to have interview in english, they might ask him what language he uses to talk to you. How old are you, how old is she. How many times you met in real/when and where/how long was each visit. When did you start dating. If you met online they might ask what website ( i met my fiancé in game and they questioned me about the game, how you play it, what’s the point of game..) When did it become romantic. What’s his occupation, what’s your occupation, where does usc work, if he knows address of your work (i was asked that question, didn’t know exact address but explained the location). They might question him about the business you two own. Might ask him to show more pictures from last visit, location/day of picture taken/who is on pictures. If you and him are engaged, to describe engagment, when and where was it, was it on the first visit, if you had engagment party and who was present, might ask for pictures, who proposed etc. If you met his family, if he met your family, if he/you communacte with each other families and how often and how do you communicate? If you two made wedding plans, who will be invited, when/where will it take place. Will his family attend the wedding. Might ask if you two share religion. Did the parents/family give approval despite the age gap, is age gap normal in his culture. I have seen one peson on other forum posted saying that he was asked why her and not a younger woman from his country. Might ask him about your divorce, if you have kids, where do you live, your birthday and other basic info~
