Filling out DS260 for one parent while waiting on I130 approval for another parent

Hello there,

 

I am a US Citizen and have filed I-130 for both my parents at the same time. My Mom's I 130 is approved and the case is sent to NVC, and available to submit DS260. While my Dad's I 130 is still under review. Upon inquiry to USCIS rep, she mentioned that my Mom's application went to Texas Service Center and Dad's to Potomac Service Center.

 

My question is if it is okay to begin NVC process for my Mom, while I am still waiting on Dad's I 130 approval. Will they still get interview at the same time, or should I just wait on submitting Mom's application as there is a 1 year time frame provided to complete respond to NVC.

Do not pay any NVC fees or submit NVC documents until both cases are at NVC.....then contact NVC and request they be interviewed together.  These are separate cases, but NVC can schedule them together.

Thank you so much for a quick response. I am afraid, I have already paid fees for I864 and DS260. I have also prepped Mom's application and just waiting on submitting.

 

May be I asked the question too late. I might just hold off on submitting her application now.

As long as you halt her application at NVC until the other case catches up, you will probably be OK.  Once the 2nd case catches up, submit the remaining items for both, and contact NVC about interviewing them together..  Good luck.
