I want to sponsor a friend who is not vaccinated under Uniting for Ukraine.

The UA vaccination Website has not been updated during the war.

The list of vaccination points is timing out on me.

If true, I think this exception applies. What does this group think?

I am older than 5 years of age, but I am not vaccinated against COVID-19 because the vaccine is not approved or licensed for use in my age group. I will get vaccinated within 14 days of arrival in the US.

Your problem is the vaccine requirement for flights to the US. There was a filer in the main thread whose fiancée, Ukrainian, refused to vaccinate and managed to clear it with the Embassy, but the next day the ‘exception’ ended and she now needs one to get on the plane. It is irrelevant if someone attests to getting vaccinated upon entry.

Before the war, I know most vaccines were available in Kyiv, including those found in the US. I have no idea what distribution is like for them now, but if Janssen is available, that’s usually the best way to go. Is this friend still within Ukraine, can he not check with the local authorities?

COVID vaccination is not required to enter the US under Uniting for Ukraine. The line you quoted would be the appropriate response. They will need at least a negative PCR test to travel thouhg.

Are we sure it is not? I don't mean to be an alarmist or anything, but the 'exception' that generically applied to Ukrainians expired May 1 iirc and wasn't renewed. A filer in the main thread had this exact issue and couldn't resolve it, though he applied K1 or something. Here's USCIS' vaccine attestation for Uniting for Ukraine, see under "COVID": link

From the document you linked:

COVID-19 Vaccine (Select one):

  • I have received at least one dose of an FDA approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccine or a COVID-19 vaccine with WHO emergency use listing (EUL).
  • I have not received at least one dose of an FDA approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccine or a COVID-19 vaccine with WHO EUL but qualify for an exception to this requirement because I am younger than 5 years old.
  • I have not received at least one dose of an FDA approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccine or a COVID-19 vaccine with WHO EUL but qualify for an exception to this requirement because I have a history of a known medical contraindication to the COVID-19 vaccine. Contraindications are listed at https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/clinical-considerations/interim-considerations-us.html#contraindications
  • I am older than 5 years of age, but I not vaccinated against COVID-19 because the vaccine is not approved or licensed for use in my age group. I will get vaccinated within 14 days of arrival in the US.

The last item is available. We selected and got our Uniting for Ukraine Travel Authorization.

Now K1 and other types if VISAs are a different story from my understanding...

But isn’t that last item qualified by “because it is not approved for my age group”? Selecting that will let you get Travel Auth but I’m not sure if you’ll have problems later down the road.

We are in the same boat as we are trying to get my mom-in-law(my wife's mom) to US. @kineo Did the person for whom you applied make it to US without any problems? Based on your reply it seems like they didn't take COVID vaccine. Any information would be very helpful.
