Nothing has changed since November 2021 when your partner received the visa.

Fully vaccinated has always meant 2 weeks after second shot. (OR two weeks after J&J).

There are instructions here indicating K1 visa applicants do not need to fully vaccinated for COVID-19 for the medical examination to be considered

complete. But, that doesn't automatically mean K1s are allowed to fly if they are not vaccinated.

Be honest and tell us you were hoping the COVID vaccination requirement would be dropped by May and you were hoping your partner would be allowed to enter the US with only one shot.

Unfortunately, you are not the only person caught up by different guidance. I believe another member managed to receive a waiver for the COVID shot but is unable to fly because the airline requires passengers are vaccinated.

Not sure why you didn't just go for J&J first time around... as it is clear you didn't want your partner to get two shots...

Either way, if she is not allowed to fly before the visa expires at least you know her COVID shots will be up to date when you finally receive the spousal visa

P.S You might want to fly with the dogs ASAP as all their paper work is in order. It would be awful if your partner's visa expired for a second time because getting their paperwork in order delayed the moving process.

My fiance is Colombian and we received our k1 visa in November 2021. We then started on the process to receive a pet import permit to bring our dogs to the US, also as they are very important to us. The process took a long time but we finally received the pet permit. We were, finally, all ready to travel with only 3 days to go before the visa expired. We were aware of the CDC guidelines for travel from a forgien country, but didn’t fully understand the new amendment that went into effect April 14th 2022, that changed the definition of Fully Vaccinated and could travel. We thought she was fully vaccinated because she received the Covid vaccination when she had her physical before the interview that was in November 2021. She was not told it was mandatory to have a second vaccine because it wasn’t required at that time. We now find out she needs an additional vaccination to be considered fully vaccinated and did receive the J&J Jansen vaccination just this past Saturday the 14th, which is considered a Full vaccination because it is a 1 dose vaccine. Also, she now has two doses. The problem is that now she needs to wait 2 weeks for it to be good to travel, but the visa expires May 17th. What can we do? Will we have to start the entire process again? I talked to my congressional representative and she said she doesn't think we can get an extension, but she isn’t sure and so we are waiting until she hears back from the embassy. I can understand if we were already in the US, but we never were able to get to the US. We are heartbroken and in a panic. If it wasn't for this covid mess, we would have had everything good and she'd be here now. It really isn’t fair to change tat they changed rules and really no one let us know. Sure I know we should be responsible for the government, but really? Change it a month before our travel? This entire process has taken us over 3 years. What can we do? I have heard that if the visa expires and we can’t get an extension, we may not have to go completely back through the process. I don’t know.If we could just get a 20 or 30 day extension we could make it work.

I’m about to get my second dose of the covid vaccine today in preparation for the medical for my immigrant visa.
I also did not want to get vaccinated but I got to do what they ask me to if I want to immigrate to USA.

I googled it THIS MORNING hoping they have changed the guidelines and I’m not required to be “fully vaccinated” but nothing have changed since last year.

I can’t see where it shows any new info about this..can you provide a link?

to cross at the Mexico border is illegal.

I think you're confused. First of all, it would be against the TOS to suggest you cross illegally. Nobody suggested that.

"Crossing at the Mexico border is illegal" is not accurate at all! Just google it. There are three pedestrian points where people can cross walking, and it is completely legal: PedEast (closer to the San Ysidro Trolley stop), Otay Mesa, and the Cross Border Express. I have no idea about the entry requirements with regards to COVID in these bridges, but what I am saying is don't generalize if you don't know. Those are POEs in fact

Being acceptably vaccinated for USCIS visa medical purposes and fully vaccinated for CDC travel requirements are two different things

For some reason I’m not feeling any sympathy whatsoever for your plight 🤷🏾‍♂️

Good luck.
