I like your chances too.

 

Did want to say that your second to last point about not needing sponsorship is a moot point, as there is no sponsorship for a tourist visa.  Further, having someone in the US willing to provide for you can act as a negative, as it can be seen as an incentive for you to stay as you have financial sponsorship.  Having had a US visa in the past (pre-ESTA), the CO is looking for reasons as to why you will leave, versus reasons for why you might be tempted to stay.

The reasons to enter the US are fine but what she must be prepared to show are the reasons to go back home. To the majority of CO those carry more, much more weight than anything.

do you think it's bad to include the sponsorship letter then? and it's only sponsoring the place to stay at, not the other spending (food, plane tickets, etc.)

totally agree! do you think having a job + school + rental lease agreement are enough to show ties to returning home?

They’ll probably just ignore the sponsorship letter.

 

They might ignore the other stuff too, but good to bring it in case they do actually look at it.

yeah the sponsorship letter seems like the least helpful (if even looked at)
