My husband finally got his US citizenship! Yay!

He immediately applied for his passport as we plan to travel to Mexico in 2 months.

My husband has no middle name so he left that box blank on the application.

We paid for expedited processing and it came today. He opened it and it says his first name followed by “MIDDLE” spelled out.

what do we do now?? Does he need to send it back as an error or did the government just put the word MIDDLE to indicate a placeholder for no middle name??
