How would this affect my current I-129f application?

It would mean withdrawing the k1

it would mean you would not have to go thru the LONG AOS process here in the USA that seems to be driving the sanest of people crazy

it would mean the spouse could get SS# with a shorter wait

it would mean the spouse could work immediately after arrival

it would mean the spouse could visit home and not be so homesick

it would mean the 2 of u weren't just sitting around the house waiting for USICS to act on your AOS, EAD and AP approvals

it means pay out the $2000 to fly there instead of the $1225 here for AOS

It would void an existing I-129f.  Here is my analysis of the differences between a fiance visa and a spousal visa:

Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.

K-1
    More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.
A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also
In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice
A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire

CR-1
    Less expensive than K-1
    No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.
Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you @Crazy Cat, @ROK2USA, and @JeanneAdil! Thank you for all of this info! It does seem like a quicker option if I could do it all right this second, but we can't. It will be 3 more months before my next visit. I'm going to write a letter and send it to the CA Center where my I-129f is.

When you Ask Emma what time of day did you do it? If you want to do it through there, you have to ask to speak to a "live agent" between 8am-8pm eastern time. If you try outside that window you can't file a request through Ask Emma. It will just give you links to how to file an expedite request. I recently submitted one through Ask Emma. They gave me a reference ID number. Here is a screenshot of mine. Also a couple days ago I tried the live agent chat again through Ask Emma and it still works. Just make sure you do it between 8am-8pm eastern time.

I don't think I will be much help. They denied my request. I am living in a foreign country with my spouse and tensions between our two countries are not that great. There was some international attention because of its policies. I asked for humanitarian reasons but it was denied. But it all worked out in the end. My visa in his foreign country got renewed and they actually offered me the option of a green card since I meet the requirements but we declined. Who knew other countries were more efficient and accommodating than the US. I am so sorry. I haven't heard of anyone getting an expedite approved except in financial situations like a job offer for the US citizen. Sorry.

Thank you for answering, I'm glad everything worked out for you. I've seen a few timelines here with expedite approved, but I don't think ill qualify for any of the requirements.

The only way of finding out for certain is to apply and it is free to do so
