Hi,

My wife got her interview date for end of May (after 2yrs of all the documents being accepted). We have few questions on what is expected for the interview:

1) We obtained the police certificate through RCMP but is believed to be expired after 1 Year. Are we required to apply for another certificate and bring it to the interview?

2) Do I (as spouse and petitioner) need to be present at the consulate during the interview? (I live in US now)

Any other recent experience tips would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

1.  Police certificates are valid for visa interview for 2 years now.

2.  No.  Unlike many other consulates, for spouse visa interview at Montreal, it is better for the applicant to be able to say truthfully, "My spouse is in the US right now", if asked by the CO.

I recommend checking out the threads in the Canada sub-forum to get more info from others who went through the process via Montreal --

Correct answer above but note there are no Green Card interviews in Montreal or anywhere else outside the USA.  The applicant is interviewing for an immigrant visa, not a green card.
