Hello everyone,

I am a F-1 Student living in the US and recently got married to a USC. My spouse and I have been living together for about 1.5 years in the same apartment which I was going to use as my mailing address.

I am filing for I-130, I-485 etc. this Friday and will be moving to a different city for a summer internship next week but my wife will be living in the same apt. In this case, how should I update USCIS about my change of address? Also, is it possible for me to receive mail at my wife's apt while I am away?

Thanks!

It is your apartment, too.....correct?  Yes, you can.

Yes I currently live there as well but when I move out in a week I will be filing AR-11 to notify USCIS of my change in address. My plan is to change my physical address but still receive mail on my current address under my wife's name.

The internship is 10 weeks long, I leave the last week of may and return by mid august. My wife will be staying at our shared apartment while I am gone. Is it possible that I keep the same address during the summer?

I am really worried because I read that if I change address, my service center will change and that might result in a delay in my application.

Thank in advance!

Please fill in your timeline. This will help you get better responses. What stage if the process are you in?

I would not even bother to make a change of address for 10 weeks. Your wife can check your mail for you in case you get a notice from USCIS.

Yes, you can and should keep the same address during the summer. You and your wife should document visits during those 10 months as evidence of your relationship. Additionally, like I said, she should keep an eye on your mail for incoming notices.

Yes, if you change your address it will mess up your case.
