I-130 May 2022 filers for Parents

Hey all, filed an i-130 for my parents in April 2022. I am seeing on this forum that it takes a while for NVC to forward the visa documents to the petitioner's country consulate, does anyone know why that is? I thought that IR-5 visa processing was quick once the petition is approved by USCIS.

We filed i-130 electronically for my father in-law in May 2022. It is in Lincoln, NE. Recieved Date 05/07/2022. He is in Pakistan.

none here. I think May filers have few more months of wait before seeing any update.

Yup that’s what it seems like. We did concurrent filling April 2022. 130,485, 131,765 all pending. 
Got an RFE in October 2022 on 485 about 684 information, which was submitted almost immediately. Since then actively processing, or RFE response received. So perhaps little more wait.

Good morning everyone,

 

I am  trying to petition for my mother and this is what i plan to include with my I-130

 

1) my Birth Certificate

2) my naturalization certificate

3) my US passport

I am NOT submitting my marriage certificate because I have never changed my name - Anyone thinks I should still submit it?

Do i need to submit my mom's  1) pictures, 2) divorce certificate 3) her birth certificate?

 

Please let me know if all above is correct?

I would imagine your marriage certificate is of value if you changed your maiden name and USCIS needs to cross-reference it to your name on the US passport and naturalization certificate.  But as always its your decision call.

I have a mere question

I am filing to bring my mother to the US

 

1) I want to upload her 1) divorce cert. 2) her birth Cert.

Can I upload both under where it says Evidence of the end of your prior marriage 

2) Also, Can i upload both my Birth and Marriage Certificates under where it says Petitioner's Birth Certificate?

I included my brother, NOt my father because they are divorced

 

Should I include myself as well? (I am petitioner)

Nothing on our end about my mom in law nor my father in law docs... 7 months in so deff more waiting to do. 

 

We're at Texas Service Center and it at 11months for processing right now

Husband filed for his parents on Jan 15, 2022 and they both got approved on Jan 22, 2023. It took an entire year. We are waiting for DQ at NVC.

Guys I am way behind you all. I became citizen three days ago. I want to file for my parents and siblings. I know I have to file separately for all of them but can I file for them on same day or on different days (especially parents on different date and siblings on different date). Someone told me that if I file for them all together it becomes family file and that will take more than 10 years for all of them. I am not sure what to do. Should I file for my parents now and file for my siblings later. Please help me out if you guys can. Very thankful. Thank you.

Parents are immediate relatives so no such thing as family file.

 

Siblings are not but are not connected, so both parents have their I 130 and then one for each sibling. You can do them all at the same time. Best to get siblings in asap due to the long wait.
