I'll pay them a couple of thousand dollars (maybe yen? or yuan? hehe).. if they can approve the visa in a week.. This will benefit both sides, will it not? I get to meet my baby soon, and they get more money (to buy their gold toilets with) to spend..

What is the additional cost of applying for the K3 also? Right now it is only $180.00? This is not much to pay to have an option to get you spouse here sooner if it works out?

We don't have a problem with paying $180 more, but it would be nice, if it would help! The problem is, if they approve your I-130 before your I-129F (which actually is the norm), they are stopping working on your I-129F and you have to go the CR1-way.

I wouldn't call it the norm yet. Maybe a recent phenomenon, we still need more data to see how that pans out. Also, there are plenty of members with both horses in the race, and plenty who had their I129F sent to NVC while the I130 was held (forcing the K3) in the last few months. This may have changed now as we have seen a few I130s get approved without activity on I129Fs

I think the I-129Fs are just running way behind. It doesn't make sense that they would stop processing these just because the I-130 is approved.

For one try $1010 for adjusting status. $20 to $300 for civil surgeon. Loss of being able to work for 3 months to who knows how long.

Some AOSs take over a year depending on the case.

Doesn't happen much but a K3 can be denied at AOS and be deported.

Expenses and MORE stress for a K3 start after embassy approval.

CRs basically stop after.

I think we all would pay whatever it takes to get the ones we love here as quickly as possible. I hope USCIS will come into the 21st century and allow applicants to file everything electronically in the future. This would expedite the process and allow software to process applicants much faster and without human error. The only thing humans would have to do is deal with the issues like screening the attachments like marriage certificates, birth certificates, etc to make sure the are legit. The would have to reenter all the data from forms sent in because the application data entry would fill in the database. Maybe someday they will utilize the technology as well as keep up with overstays.

The problem with immigration isn't from families trying to be together in the US it is EWI's and overstays. This is what needs to be addressed. Technology can at least address the overstays by having their passport and visa data in a national database that if they are overstays anytime the show an ID they get located immediately. I think the general public would support easier means of entry in the US if they felt the government had control over who is here.

Let them cash in I'll pay triple/quad/10x the amount if they hurry it up so we can be together.. I would trade all my things just for the "lost" time gained back to be with her.. one more hug, one more kiss, one more day together..

I don't, lol.. I base it on other timelines (about a year for about 80% of cases).. I know there are still some that are never approved or have problems.. but at most , it will come around April 2008 for me.. otherwise, I have put my estimates for my applications in my signature

that's why I put a far estimate on my "Journey Together"... my expectations is for April 2008... anything earlier is considered a bonus.. =) don't put your expectations too high for USCIS.. if you expect it, and it doesn't come.. then you will get disappointed.. have a farther expectation (like me), and anything that is earlier is counted as a bonus.. it's not like I won't call them (using RFE trick) before April 2008... just my expectation for them is that far.. even though I have my "estimates" in my signature (8/27/2007 for I-130, and 9/26/07 for I-129F), I still won't think of them as accurate..
