Which work visa am I eligible for? TN/B1?

Hi there,

I got on offer to develop and work on a course for a US company as an instructor. Most of the work would be conducted here in Canada (developing the course, etc). I will however have to go to the US for 2 days to have the course filmed. This gig is paid but there is an option for them to pay me solely for the work I conduct here in Canada rather than the presentation I do in the US.

Which option do you think is best suited for my case?

Thanks!

Agree

have them pay you /do the work in Canada then you can just enter on B1/business visitor status for the presentation, no hassle like with getting a work visa (work visas have to be sponsored by employers)

Thank you! What documents would I need to bring to the border for B1 admission?

not a lawyer, but I don't think you need any documents if you are just crossing for a presentation (adn you are a Canadian citizen). be transparent and honest with CBP officers and be aware that you are not allowed to do any work on US soil without authorization

Normally they do not look at documentation. I never showed anything. If you have something no harm bringing it.
