is he retired and does  not need to file taxes?

he should come here as a member and let us know the situation

some of us don't need to work.   /don't need to file taxes on our SSA and retirement benefits

it is up to the USC (husband) to follow the I 864 instructions to show SSA and / retirement or use assets according to I 864 instructions

OR

secure a joint sponsor

Not retired but he just doesn’t need to work and at HK with me. NVC’s instructions are very blurry and when I called them they just being rude and hanged up on me. This is very frustrating…

Sorry I’m not quite sure what DQ stand for, does it mean denial?

DQ means documentaily qualified

means NVC accepted and approved the documents

Yes we did. My husband is not the problem here cuz I never mind doing paperworks. He was the one on the phone with NVC first but had some urgent business to take care of in the middle of the call. Since we’ve been waiting on the line for over an hour so I took over and wanted to finish the convo with NVC.

Unfortunately, the supervisor was being really rude to me (not my husband). Frankly this is what stressing me out. I need instructions from NVC and getting nothing but discrimination from a supervisor…

You say NVC's notices are confusing.  Why not quote those notices here, so we can explain what they mean to you.  Your husband can explain better, and understand our answers better.  Get him involved, or we are just working in the dark.

he,  the USC,  needs to talk to NVC   / actually i am surprised they talked to u at all

it is up to him to prove he has income and/or assets to complete the I 864 and income requirements

it may be a hassle to be on hold (same for all of us) but this is important -very important if u want the case to go to interview and get the visa

and he needs to read the instructions for the I 864 and fill out the form correctly /  it tells him exactly what to do

Hi there,

my husband didn’t work for three years already so he didn’t file any taxes. He got money in his saving account (exceeded the min. income requirement x3). Is this enough for my cr1 case or do we have to add a joint sponsor?

Thank you!

Which account does he have savings in? A US bank account or his HK bank account?

If he has over $10 000 in a foreign bank account he should be filing FBARs.

If he is really not earning any money. He needs to upload a statement explaining why he doesn't have to file taxes.

If you are using assets you should upload proof of the assets.

ETA: As you plan to use assets you will receive a generic message suggesting a joint sponsor. You can line one up if you want... or go to the interview with proof of assets and the CO at interview will tell you if you require a joint sponsor.

All correct, but is speculation as to the "confusing notices".  The OP needs to get the husband involved and provide the actual text of the notices that are confusing them.  Then, we can TARGET the advice given instead of random shotgun correct answers that may not apply to them.

OP stated "confusing instructions".

They might not have submitted anything to NVC yet.

Ah~ looked through old post history and they re-submitted to NVC November, 3. 2021.

@Megcr it would be helpful if you attach the most recent RFEs you received from NVC

Thank you for your information. All his money is in US account and we uploaded his bank statement already as a proof of domicile. We also submitted the statement of not making money too. These two part both got accepted.
