did u read the petition thru in its entirety before he mailed it ?

as u are responsible for all that is stated in the petition and lawyers make mistakes (big one is leaving off children of either of u and they need to be on this petition even if not traveling now to the US)

Yes I did read through it but i did pay a lawyer for a reason, I didn’t know something like her birth certificate and gold receipt needed to be translated. I thought he would tell me. My lawyer is saying that the birth certificate isn’t even needed from the beneficiary and that it doesn’t need to be translated.

Then, why did he sent it?

He is correct that the beneficiary birth certificate is not needed at this stage. If he did send it, I have no idea why he wouldn’t even translate it.

I did provide a copy of my fiancés passport that’s in English. If I do get an RFE to send translated copies how much extra time would that take? Approximately? And thank you everyone for the replies it really helps to get help during this stressful time

So long as your fiancé isn’t in the US, you didn’t need to attach his passport, either. To be honest, I don’t think anything in the I-129F needs to be translated unless it’s some super-specific piece of evidence (or, say, a foreign divorce decree). You should be completely fine, so long as your documents, as the Petitioner, are in English.

To the wait time for RFE, well, the whole process is insanely delayed but I’ve seen them going 2-3 months lately. You can try to preempt an RFE by sending a document you know you forgot to the office in California. This has, on occasion, helped users here dodge an RFE even though I don’t think it’s officially noted as an option.

Good luck!
