Super Speeding Ticket and N400

Good afternoon everyone,

 

I got a super speeding ticket in January, 2021 in GA

I am applying for Citizenship and will this be a reason for N400 denial?

 

Has anyone experienced the same? It was super speeding ticket not just a ticket

Yes, I paid the fine and I also got Disposition from the court

Correct, it is not a felony but i just wondered if there is anyone here with the same actual situation

Lots of people successfully naturalise with speeding tickets the important thing is that you have dealt with it

I've had two speeding tickets in 20 years and listed both in my N400 (yes, even one from 2003). During my interview, they didn't even bother asking about them other than for me to show that I had taken care of them as @Boiler stated.

A citation for speeding for N400 purposes is a citation for speeding. 

 

Side note: Did you apply in 2019?

Yes I know but I am thinking regular speeding tickets and Super speeding ticket is different.

I did pay the fine though

Right, I hope USCIS takes Super speeding ticket as regular traffic ticket.

I am going to apply next week and I do have proof of online payment, as well as certified court disposition, sending all of these to them

While I don’t know what exactly a “super speeding ticket” is, I had a regular one (in VA, where I live) and listed it.  I even went to the court building to obtain a hand-signed confirmation that I paid the fine (it was around the $150/200 mark).  Turns out this wouldn’t have been necessary.  Especially because it’s not a felony, I believe having documentation that you don’t owe anything anymore on it should be enough.  

Also, two years prior to me, a close friend of mine naturalized, and she had several tickets, including at least one reckless driving charge (going over 80mph in VA), and it wasn’t a problem at all. 

I would just bring all the docs you have to prove that you paid everything.

Besides having your pay higher fines, what differentiates a super speeding ticket from any other speeding ticket?

 

If it not a felony or jail-able offence, I would not stress about it.

 

People get speeding tickets everyday. Just saying

They usually ask about tickets to ensure you paid them and did not get arrested. Is there a story or problem around this that you are concerned about?

I would assume a "super" speeding ticket was not the only charge.

I was 'super' curious:

 

Georgia defines a Super Speeder as a driver convicted of speeding at 75mph or more on a two-lane road or 85 mph or more on any road or highway in Georgia. In addition to any fees and punishments assessed by the Court, a Super Speeder must pay an extra $200 fee to the state.

My question in this thread defined my issue

was driving 20 miles more than the limit, got pulled over, received a ticket.

Checked the fine it was $421, had questions as of why the fine was so high, called the court and they told me it was a super speeder ticket

 

That's all what happened
