Dv case still at nvc

My case 2022AF8*** is still at nvc. I've seen cases from AF region as high as 2022AF50*** already processed but I've also noticed cases as low as 2022AF4** still at NVC. My DS 260 shows complete and I understand documents need not be sent since you can take them to consular during interview. How come so many low cases with completed DSs still at NVC yet high numbers have been processed and approved? Good luck to everyone!

u can not compare dq times as the numbers reflect visa differences

like a sibling visa could pass thru USCIS and be on hold in NVC for a visa #

therefore the fees and supporting documents are not yet asked for

(so no DQ)

if u know these are same as yours (a IR2) then do u know that the fees are paid to NVC?

Do u know these cases have sent all doucments in to NVC for them to be approved?

do u know these cases have met the income requirements?

do u know the officer doing the documents and how fast or slow they are to complete each task?

Do u know if any of the slower cases received an RFE ?

Do u know if any of the other IR2's are on hold by the petitioner waiting for the IR 1 to catch up?

sorry your site says IR2

dv lottery cases still go thru the process to validate each and every document

some need more work and security checks than others

and some have a spouse and /or kids  to include in the checks

DV cases do not go through NVC -- they go through the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC).

Your understanding of the process is wrong.  You do need to take the originals of the required documents with you to the visa interview.  However,  you also need to submit scanned copies of them to KCC before that.  If you have not submitted scans of all of the required documents you will never be scheduled for an interview.  See the steps in the process at  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/diversity-visa-program-entry/diversity-visa-if-you-are-selected/diversity-visa-prepare-supporting-documents.html.  Check especially Step 6.

Case is at KCC. But when you check through ceac it says case at NVC. KCC or NVC they're all visa centers and my DV lottery is at a Visa center

Not a lot of people here understand the Dv process. You are correct that the CEAC website says NVC but it is actually at KCC, and that you no longer have to submit docs to KCC first.
I have not been following consulate specifics but it could just be a backlog at Nairobi. The latest IV issuance stats are for March, which show 41 DVs issued at Nairobi. This is a really low monthly figure compared to the total 2882 selectees for Kenya for the fiscal year, so I think it’s a backlog issue. Have you tried contacting the embassy?

KCC dropped the requirement to scan and send them first, I believe a few months back. I guess once again they don’t update the DV pages until the next FY…

edit: it was actually in December

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/diversity-visa-2022-update.html

DV-2022 selectees no longer must submit to the KCC any other required supporting documents for DV-2022 in order to be eligible to be scheduled for an in-person interview at an embassy or consulate.  Rather, all supporting documents for DV-2022 selectees will be collected in connection with the interview and evaluated at the embassy or consulate where the visa application is made.

Thanks for updating my old information.  Can't believe they leave such important info be so out-of-date!

They did the same kind of thing when they introduced the requirement - at that stage they just left up for months the old info saying to not send anything to KCC or it would be destroyed 🤦‍♀️  Definitely room for improvement in their processes.

Maybe they're just testing it out to see how it works before updating the change or maybe it's a short-term COVID change -- but whatever the reason, it must be really frustrating for people trying to follow the process.  I hope they make it more clear in the instructions they send out to individuals.  Glad you were here to correct the supposed step-by-step information they still have posted.

I don’t think so, the submission of docs was the “change” in the process a couple of years back and it just delayed everything. KCC basically has a handful of contract staff employed to deal with DV and they seem hopelessly understaffed as it is without having to deal with everyone submitting documents as well. I think they just don’t bother updating the main travel.state.gov pages more than once a year.
