On April 27 I got an RFE to replace applicant's birth certificate with " Folio de Nacimiento"( Honduras) Folio of birth which is the equivalent of a birth certificate in USA.

This was the only document that was rejected by NVC. It was a mistake of mine since Honduras has several ways to expedite a birth certificate, and the accepted one is " Folio de Nacimiento"

Question:

Do I need to apostille this document?

Does it need a certified translantion? If you look at the " folio de nacimiento" it looks very complex in order to fit it a 8.5x11 paper. I need some help, I don't want another RFE

No need to apostille the document but if it is not in English you should translate it.

I believe you can translate it yourself.

Thanks for the reply. I usually pay for these translations online, but it looks too complex to translate. Take a peak in Goo...is called "Folio de nacimiento"

Yeah... that is complicated. Unless you can find a sample translation for USCIS purposes online I would pay~

you should use the same translation service you will use for the document to be submitted to Consulate during the interview.

Remember that the consulate requires the same exact documents and translations uploaded to the ceac website.

Each consulate has a list of approved translators

I use a private company online from the US that deals with this and it has worked. The thing is that the " Folio de Nacimiento" is not an ordinary document, it looks very complex to tranlaste due to the format.
