I just received an email saying our location changed from Russia to Kazakhstan which I asked 10 days ago, not sure how things go in Kazakhstan

Great news for you!! Did you send any email or just call them as you told in your previous posts? But you told they denied to transfer your case back them. I have more difficult situation. Emailed NVC but have not gotten any reply yet.

They changed my location in travedocs but I just called NVC and she said she didn’t see a change yet and she said it’s better ask Kazakhstan embassy to request my case, I emailed Kazakhstan embassy with my case number and will call them tomorrow

Armenia denied my request but not Kazakhstan and it took 7 days for a response

I emailed them on Wednesday. So it is just 6days. But I emailed them as beneficiary because it is easier for to explain our problem why I would not be able to travel to Germany or Poland for my interview. Maybe my fiance should email them?

Just to confirm: You received an email from the US Embassy in Nur-Sultan stating that they approved your request to transfer your K1 case from Warsaw to Nur-Sultan? Changing locations in ustraveldocs does not necessarily imply the former, and we haven't really heard of many success stories of people's k1 transfer requests being accepted in Kazakhstan so I'm just confirming. If that's the case, that's great news for you! What reasoning did you provide them to transfer your case?

Yeah, this is just US Travel Docs stating they've changed your location based on your request. They'll change it to whatever you ask them to change it to, but it doesn't mean that the Embassy in Kazakhstan will accept your k1 case.

So my case will still send to Warsaw?

It would have to be from the consulate in Almaty as the IV unit is there (K1s are processed by the IV unit).

Agreed. US travel docs will change your location when you ask them but that’s just for US travel docs site. It has nothing to do with changing countries at NVC or consulate stage. When a case is officially approved for a transfer, at least at NVC stage, you would be given a new NVC case number that would start with ALA.

At this point Yes because you have not emailed the Immigrant Visa (IV) Unit in Almaty to accept your case. Their email is usakz@state.gov

You can’t ask US travel docs help desk for that, it’s unrelated.
