Oh,one more question: I saw several posts about ppl going to office depot or similar and MAKE A COPY OF THE ENTIRE PACKAGE aka huge pile of paper......really?? Isn't it enough,to have all the originals? Any idea of the estimatedcosts?🤔

Hey Caligirl1!

Part of the file is copies from the originals (so we won't make copies - like you said, we have the originals)

And the rest is all digitalized in both our computers.

I am going to make a very precise list of all the documents we are going to send.

Personally, I’d say: you’re dealing with USCIS. They’re known for losing stuff and then sending a RFE saying you didn’t send it. So yes, I had a huge package (look at my comment in this thread), but I made a copy of the whole package before sending it.

This is a ballpark, but with the bank statements (they were the ones that took more paper) and all the evidence we sent, plus purchasing the sticky tabs and mailing it, we probably spent $200

I made a copy of my 6 lb packet just in case. One if they had of lost it I had one readily available to send on the spot. Two if you have an interview you have to bring your copy plus documents from after you filed up until interview at least I'll do that.  It's  a personal choice to make a copy. But dealing with USCIS, "It's like a box of chocolates"! 🍫

I recommend sending extensive documentation to USCIS.  This is likely to minimize processing delays and avoid RFEs. I submitted extensive documentation for both AOS and ROC. Both my applications were approved with no RFEs.

If we get called for an interview I totally see ourselves carrying our “little” packet in a carry on

Well,I know a copy of all submitted docs was required for AOS,and I took all of that to my interview ( they didn't need/want a single piece though🙄🤷‍♀️) , but I don't see that requirement for the RoC interview 🤔 And yes, uscis looses papers, happened to me with form I-131 ,got RfE- send it again, all good. I'll think about making a copy though. And,for the interview I'll rent a lil uhaul 🚚 🤣🤣

May I ask if this email is from USPS or USCIS? USPS tracking is saying that my package is picked up, but I haven't heard anything back from USCIS. Sent my package on May 14.

The email was from USPS,I did priority mail with required signature at delivery. Then I went on the tracking page for mail, and opted in , in the section for confirmation email. And,just in case,I printed out that email.
