Ow you did. So you are still waiting. I saw that it takes about 18 months.

Your Green Card is probably expired by now. Did you get a document or anything to show that you are in the process and legit to stay on the US soil and still allowed to work?

When you file for ROC, you will get a letter that extends the validity of your green card for 24 months. You need that to start a new job, and to travel outside of the US and be allowed back in.

Mind you, what expires is the proof of status, which is your green card. Your status doesn't expire.

Hey, I come here to support you! I'm a February 2022 filer, I was the only one posting in that thread... But I started it in December! Hahaha

Your list looks comprehensive. But if I may add some unsolicited advice, instead of the bank letter, I would actually include bank statements that show movement. I included 24 bank statements (for the two years from opening the account to filing for ROC) but it was probably an overkill. You may want to do quarterly instead.

Yes, i know the bank letter doesn't prove anything for sure.

I will follow your advice.

Thank you Rocio (I see you are from Argentina. I have very dear friends from BsAs. So, the question is : River Plate o Boca Juniors ?😃)

BsAs.

I just love Buenos Aires. Such an interesting, unique city with its mix of French and Spanish architecture. I love it. Like, seriously people, if you ever go to South America, you CANNOT skip Buenos Aires. In fact, they call it "The Paris of South America".

Came here to say the same. I included bank statements for the joint account & joint credit card showing both our usage (for every month). Might be an idea to put at least quarterly in just to add more even weight to the shared finances aspect.

thank you Yoda, we will definitely add those.

have a good day.

People are so helpful, it is amazing.

No need to send tax returns AND tax transcripts. My advice would be to send only the transcripts - more official, and less paper.

Also agree with others about sending bank statements. USCIS loves to see co-mingling of finances.

Thank you BelovedDingo. Great advice. My husband is relieved... so much less paper!

Agreed. And not only that, the issue is that if you send them the tax return, some officers do not know how to read it! Tax return transcripts are so much less paperwork and easier overall.

River Plate 100%

I spent a whole month there. Decades ago in my early 20s. Loved it. Beautiful city. And I agree it is a must-see.

So River Plate 😉!  My friends are divided, some are River, others are Boca. It makes our dinners more interesting and fun!

Ok, I'll stop. Don't want to turn this forum into a Tourist gig 😎

Yes you'll  get an extension letter which is the same as your NOA it's  good for 24 months! Be sure to make several copies of it and put up the original for safe keeping. You should already have copied your GC.
