Release of Federal Tax Information

I just found out on the IVR that I have an RFE about the I864. I'm sure that I did everything correct. I can't wait for the letter to arrive, I need ya'lls opinion. I am using James' shortcuts and I did not submit the Release of Federal Tax Information form. I read in several different areas that it was not required anymore. I guess that is a possible RFE. Does anyone know?

It's also possible that I need a co-sponsor. The 2nd and 3rd latest tax years I was in college and was not able to support my husband financially but last year 2006 I was able to. I called the NVC and told them that and she said they only look at the last tax year. I never know what to believe with them, I always get different answers it seems. The last tax year I was able to support him like 2 thousand above 125% of the poverty line, which is pushing it. That being because I landed a job with the school district so I only had 4 nice paychecks (Sept-Dec). This year will be much better, pay stubs that i included from Jan-May already equal well over the 125% pov line. I included my contract with the school district and proof that I have a job. Do you think that is enough? Even though the last couple years haven't been that great, I would think the future job security was more important years 2004 and 2005. Then again I am not the NVC.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

How do you know that the RFE is for the I-864? If you're getting the recording after you sent in the I-864 then it's most likely that they are waiting for the DS-230 before they complete the case.

Maybe I used RFE incorrectly I don't know. It just said after reviewing the I864 I have missing or incomplete documents and that a letter has been mailed to tell me what is missing or incomplete.

I'd call the NVC and talk to an operator to be sure but like Mononoke said: the message you are hearing now is the message a LOT of us have heard after submitting the I-864 and before the NVC was done with the DS-230 (generating/reviewing).

But like I said: I'd call to be sure.

Oh, that's the same stupid message I've been getting for the past 2 weeks as well. I called them last week and they told me they're waiting for the DS-230 which was supposed to be generated last week. I still don't have anything.
