Hey podeena, quick question i will have a joint sponsor for my AOS because my income doesnt qualify for my wife and child , and my joint sponsor only has enough income for 2021, 2022 and i know AOS only requires 1 year income proof (NVC website), but will there be a problem because now im not the sponsor anymore but i will have a new joint sponsor, thank you.

CURRENT income is king....not what was earned in past years.  The requirement is to provide the most recent year tax return (which has nothing to do with current annual income).

Unless self-employed, Current annual income is determined as follows:

Gross income from most recent pay stub multiplied by the number of pay periods per year.  That equals CURRENT annual income.

You remain the primary sponsor, even with a joint sponsor..

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yes but is it fine that i can have a joint sponsor because my income no longer meets the requirements, i didnt know my US citizen son born in Pakistan living with my wife counts as a household member on my AOS even though i never claimed him on my taxes ( he doesnt have a SSN, hes only 7 months old)

You will be always the primary sponsor so your current paystub and 2022 tax return plus joint sponsor's current paystub and 22 tax return should be provided at interview if your interview is coming this year and I don't know about 7 months old baby is in spouse visa already included or you have to file for baby separate please confirm that from someone else if someone has that answer please share here.thx

But my income doesnt meet the income requirements so i would need a joint sponsor what is the point of my income needed, i never heard of this in my life i know about 20 people that came to USA from pakistan and they never even showed their income because they had a joint sponsor. And no my son has a USA passport so hes not part of my wifes case at all my son can even come tomorrow to the USA, but yes i might have to fill out new ds260 before my wifes interview.

As long as you can provide a joint sponsor IO doesn't care if you are sponsoring or some one else they want to make sure that the potential immigrant doesn't become a public charge. So as long as your joint sponsor has enough income to support AOS you are good.

No sorry but i doubt you will get your interview in december, i would say fastest you would get your interview would March-April 2024.

Well that's before Easter or around there so I'm still happy 😄 I just visited my husband and I visit him every 9 months so waiting 9 more months (or 10) isn't so bad.  I've gotten too used to waiting unfortunately lol

My DQ date is August 2022 so I'm hoping Basits interview will happen at Christmas or before Easter next year. I know I'm having high hopes for that but is it realistic to expect it to happen in 9 months instead of 12? Lol but I got too excited when I saw they were scheduling for September 2 2021 already. A month ago they were working on may 2021 so if they keep this pace maybe I can have hope that it'll take 9 more months

Hopefully it’s going to take upto 11 months till you get your IL.

US Embassy Islamabad is the biggest and slowest US embassy around the globe 🌎.

It is i agree india which has 7x more population than pakistan is only taking 4-5 months for interview yet somehow pakistan is taking 20-22 months for interview. They are going faster now however i think for new people it would be 16-18 months instead of 20-22 months. I believe by summer 2024 the backlong will clear and than it will go back to its usual timing of 2 months wait for interview.

I hope so but I heard the backlogs will be over till 2025. Then immediate family members of the Us citizen cases will take 9 to 12 months.

Current US government budget invests more than $1.5 billion in the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) both to manage and mitigate the backlog of over 1.8 million cases currently pending in the immigration courts that this Administration largely inherited from its predecessor.
