Looks like they are up to May 17 DQ dates now. If you don't mind my asking, on what basis did you apply+get approval for expedite?

Hi there all:

It is a good sign to see that Islamabad Embassy is maybe moving a bit faster.

My wife is undergoing spouse visa process.

We were able to expedite our interview at ISL embassy (have been DQ since Oct 3rd, 2022)

We received an email indicating that our interview was expedited, that our interview date will be scheduled and emailed to us shortly (still waiting for the date)

It was expedited due to medical reasons for our newborn medical issues.

My question is: For spouse immigrant visa interview: after the interview, how long does it take to receive the passport? and be able to fly? I am sure there are varying time frames for different cases. But our case is straight forward, and an expedited interview due to our newborn baby born in Lahore (who is an American citizen at birth and needs to go to USA asap) medical issues. And there are no complications in our case, it is the first time I have sponsored for a spouse.

Any input would be appreciated.

We are hoping to fly asap after the interview.

Also, Is there a way to expedite the passport handling and delivery?

Wow that was quick for i-130 approval...18 days. You are only lucky dude. Good luck on your journey for final visa. I first time sponsored my wife too. 14 months and still no sign of i-130 approval yet.

hi guys:

We had reasons for expedited processing, and were approved due to medical/humanitarian reasons.

It would be greatly appreciated if someone can chime in, on the question I asked.

When can one expect to get the passport, after the interview?

Thank you.

Congrats, and i hope you are reunited with your wife and baby soon. lots of prayers for your baby.

Answer: After interview is approved and visa is issued it takes about one to two weeks to receive the passport back. They can fly as soon as they have their passports on hand, but i would advise not to buy tickets until they have passports on hand.

Thanks for the quick response.

I am hoping not to get stuck in admin processing.

But then again I don't think that our case has anything that might warrant that.

cheers

I just read on a website some US citizens who spouses were waiting in Pakistan for interview filed a case against US consulate Islamabad. on the article they said that consulate is prioritizing afghan cases and B1/B2 visa appointments. Is this true? is this the reason we have to wait for so long to be with our loved ones?
