Hi everyone. I recently left Ukraine through Romania and I'm back in my home country (Nigeria).

Unfortunately, due to Russian invasion, our Cr1 case was moved from Kyiv to Frankfurt, Germany. Our case is currently complete and waiting to receive a response concerning interview from the US Embassy in Frankfurt.

• Getting a Visa to Germany from Nigeria is currently difficult as there are no available dates for interview.

• Transferring the case to Nigeria is not a good choice as there aren't available dates until 2024

• I'm enquiring if it is possible I transfer the case to Ghana where I can travel to Visa-free. My only doubt is if I can attend an interview there or any other Visa-free country in Africa without being a resident.

• I'm confused as to what to do and I need your advice here. Thank you!

I think your only options are Germany (if you can get a schengen visa) or Nigeria.

Ghana is not an option for you because you are not a resident there. Plus Ghana is super backed up; I think they still interviewing cases from 2020.

You probably want this post merged with your previous post as they are pretty much related.

Thank you for your response. I actually got our case expedited due to the war in Ukraine. The case was sent to the Embassy in Frankfurt for appointment. Do you think the same expedite can work if I transfer to Nigeria?  (Nigeria is currently so backlogged)

The approved expedite from USEM in Germany won't work in Nigeria if transferred. Expedite approvals are consulate specific so an expedite approved by USEM in Germany can't be used for interviews in Nigeria. You'll have to request another expedite from USEM in Nigeria after transfer. Now another thing you probably don't want to hear is that expedite does not mean fast especially with the backlog caused by the pandemic. Also imho, I don't think the USEM in Nigeria will expedite your case due to Ukraine war since you are safely living in Nigeria now as a Nigerian citizen but you can always try.

Thank you so much for caring. Do you think with a priority date of May 28, 2021, I can stand a chance to have an appointment in Nigeria this year? It's so hard for me and my wife. She's in the US and currently busy with her PhD.

My first thought is would they interview a tourist? Probably not

OP's case was originally in Ukraine....it was automatically transferred to Frankfort.....but OP is currently in Nigeria.

Op's posts needs to be merged otherwise important context will be missed by those not aware of op's previous posts.

I have already asked the friendly mods to merge them...

I think there's a Nigeria thread in the Nigeria portal that keeps track of interviews in Nigeria.

This year seems possible. Lagos has not sent out IL's since January. They are still on DQ  Dec 10, 2020.
But first you need to work on transferring your case.
