asylum based  to marriage based with USC 

 

My current ead from asylum based c08 expired July 2022. 
applied for ead ( marriage based ) on 2/7/22. I asked VJ should I checked renewal or initial filing on the form. VJ members suggested to check initial box because it’s different category. But my lawyer insisted that we should choose renewal because it won’t make any different, he said he filed over 1000 EAD applications  and never had issue. So I trust his judgement. 

 

After 4 failed expedites  and also asked help from congresswoman (and failed), that I initiated myself, I didn’t even check the status much anymore because I’m so demotivated….suddenly I saw this notification today. Total 80 days from PD. I literally cried ! 
 

Received the approval letter on USCIS website and it showed that my new. EAD will valid from today onwards  ( april 22 - april 24 ) instead continuing my asylum based EAD that will be expired July 2022.
