The lawyer sent an email, he got a response saying that they got the email. Phone calls were never answered

that statement only reinforces my opinion of the process thru a lawyer

an attorney can fill out the petition (same as the petitioner can do)

but they have little or no influence over the interview and embassy to really help the case

 

and ,  the lawyer i consulted only had an agreement to do the petition -nothing past the paperwork to start the petition

 

your BIL should get a copy of this return email and all other documents including the petition that the lawyer did
