Hello guys hope you're all well,

So my moms and my brother got approved from uscis and got a case number from NVC. My mom lives in Pakistan and my brother lives in Australia. I applied for them in July 2021 and last week they got there case number. So im confused on my brother will he be coming with my mom or does he have to wait at least 10 years. I also am a US citizen.

thanks

but he got his nvc case number I thought the process would have been faster now

Getting a case number is one thing and getting an interview date is another. He may have a case number at NVC but his interview will not be scheduled until the F4 priority date becomes current at ISB consulate. F4 is his visa classification which is different than your mom's (Immediate Relative). There is a huge backlog at ISB consulate and they are prioritizing IR visas over others. So your brother has a long way to go probably.

Oh okay, I understand. one more question wouldn't his interview be in Australia because he lives there?

He can have it there or in ISB too if he can establish his residency in Pak. Otherwise, in Australia ofcourse. You'll then have to refer to the respective consulate in Australia and how it processes F4 visas.

in October I filed it, and he was born in pakistan but his case is in Australia not Pakistan

October 2021?  F4 visa category petition?  It could be 15 years.

thats what I was thinking that It takes more than 10 years for siblings but why did they send the NVC case number than? My husband mom is applying for her siblings and they have the receipt number and that was 2 years ago there case didn't go to NVC. My brothers did so thats why im confused.

Because now, the I-130 is approved, but his case must wait at NVC until a visa number is available.....there are a LOT of people in front of him. All he can do is to wait.  There is no way to expedite.

So sometime in the 2040s

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

It makes no difference that he’s in Australia. The wait time will be there same (~15 years).

All cases go to NVC at some point where they lay in wait to become current. So it’s nothing out of the ordinary or unique that you were sent an NVC case number. You have a very long wait ahead.
