We are about to file to lift conditions, and I was wondering how long it takes USCIS to send the extension letter for the GC.

I think my husband's Driver's license expires when his conditional GC expires, and I was also wondering if anyone else had to renew their driver's license using the extension.

Any issues at your jobs? Did you have to do anything special to prove you're still valid?

I can't wait for us to be done with all this stuff, it's so annoying!

Thanks for the help...

Hi Stina and Suj,

I am from Alabama and my husband's driver's license expired same day as his greencard. So once we filed for removal of conditions and we received his extension, I called the driver's license department to find out what my husband needed. Well after being transferred to like a million people I called the Director and he put me in touch with someone at the driver's license department who took immigration classes and knew what documents were needed, he told me that they would need the extension letter, his driver's license, and his greencard. When we got there and after alot of hassle the DL dept verifified his documents, took his photo, verified his information (like address, weight, height, etc) and took his renewal fee. But check with the DL dept in ur state to find out what their steps are. As for his job they never asked for reverification that he still eligible to work. I hope this helped.

I work in Human Resources, and by law your job is not allowed to ask you for reverification of your green card.

we filed with nebraska too, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes them... as long as THEY get it, i don't much care when NOA arrives... GC expires August 24, so we should be okay.
