Hi,

I have received an interview confirmation for 11th Jun 2022.

Unfortunately, I have a travel plan on 19th Jun for 2 months outside of US and booked my tickets as well.

I understand that my field office Newark offers same day oath once interview is passed.  I can attend an interview but if I take Naturalization Oath on same day or later then its not possible for me to get US passport and my native country visa documents by that time.

Is there way we can request to reschedule an oath ceremony at a later date ? Any idea how much gap it would be allowed considering my overall stay would be 2 months.

Appreciate a response from community members here who faced similar situation or have knowledge about it.

I took my oath in newark and before starting the oath ceremony they gave a brief speech warning us about not being able to travel since we would have to surrender our green cards so if anybody had any travel plans to leave the room & reschedule the oath ceremony to a later date in one of the windows. It was a choice given to us right before starting the ceremony. I went & took the oath on sept 2021 so things might still be the same.  Good luck

Hey nap23! What ended up happening with your interview/oath? Were you able to reschedule for a later date?
