My wife recently received notice that she will have her n400 interview in about 3 weeks. In studying for the interview  we were horrified to find  what seems like a huge error. when asked if she has ever used any other legal name besides  the one she uses now (since her marriage to me) we apparently did not enter her maiden name !  Of course many of the documents we have sent in the past for this and for her green card would have shown her maiden name. What should we do??

At the interview she'll be given the opportunity to correct issues so she can correct it there.

It is more  likely this  a USCIS problem than her error.   Correct at interview and thanks for a another example of why filing N-400 is bad.

You mean filing online right?

Worst case scenario it delays her because of them wanting to do another name/background check.

No need to sweat it, raise it at the interview.

Just another random guy from the internet with an opinion, although usually backed by data!

Not a big issue, IO will go over the application and make the necessary changes and then ask your wife to review the changes and sign to it.

I forgot to put include my first trip after gaining my Residency; a 4 month trip to home country to wrap up my life there.  It was all good.

I also answered no to a question because I wasn't sure but then told IO why I think it's yes and she corrected it with and explanation which the online or physical forms don't allow.

The interview is the time to clarify any and everything.

We had the same issue, not with N-400 but with the first GC interview. Submitted multiple requests for correction to no avail. We raised it during interview and the IO corrected it there, the issue was it prompted another FBI background check and delayed our timeline for another 4 months. Long story short, don't need to sweat if the mistake does not impact eligibility but you do need to prepare for additional wait time.
