Parking at Chicago Consulate?

What is the best/closest place to park at the Chicago Consulate?

Wife & kids are renewing their passports next Wednesday.  I was just going to drive around and pick them up at the end of their appointment hour, but since there is now a Jollibee on the same block as the Consulate, that isn't going to work.  :D

There's underground parking garage (Grant Park Garage?) .  Entrance is off Michigan avenue one or two blocks south of the embassy.  Entrance is between the N and S lanes, so you'll want to be in the left lane.  Prepare for Chicago parking prices, I think it was $22 last time we were there (December).

Sometimes its cheaper to prepay with Spothero.  We've parked in the Grant park garages for sometimes $10 for 24 hours or some variation within.  Typically prepaying can get much cheaper prices in Chicago.  With the Spothero app, you just scan your QR code when you enter and exit and its quite seamless.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

Thanks, we parked there.  Cost was $27 with the post-appointment stop at Jollibee.

Excellent!  You got off easy, I get stuck being dragged to the Seafood Market Jollibee which includes a whole SUV full of Filipino groceries for the drive back, a $400 adventure normally :)
