Does "Family Name" change?

My question is... what name should be used for Family Name in all the forms for AOS after marriage.

My fiancee came to the US using a K-1 Fiancee Visa with her maiden name on all the forms.

We just got married, and the AOS forms ask for Family Name. What name should be used?

Question asked often.

Use whatever name she wants on the green card, either married name, or maiden name.

Keep in mind it is expensive to change the name on the green card if you decide to file using maiden name, and then later decide to change the name on the card. (I-90 + $200 or more fee)

We put married name, and there is a place to put maiden name, "Name on I-94 card" line on the I-485, and G-325A "Other names used"

Look closely at the example I-485, and G-325A

Married name!

You do not have to use your married name.... so the correct answer would be which ever name you now wish to use.... you can continue to use your maiden name or you can use your now married name... it is up to you.... if you use your married name be sure to list your maiden name in the space for other names used.....
