@JustHopefulAny update? Got a response to my service request from uscis that my case is currently in line to be sent to NVC but case tracker is showing "case was approved".

@Surulere Congrats !! That's great news. Looks like some movement in your case. Hope you receive more good news soon.

We are  waiting still. Our case tracker also says "approved".

Did you receive an email or a call back from uscis?  What are the exact words in the response - is it - " case is currently in line to be sent to NVC " ?  Maybe the others can respond if anyone has gotten such a reply and how long it takes for the case status to change after this.

Thanks!@JustHopeful

Those were the exact words from uscis. Hopefully we should hear from NVC soon since we have the same timeline. Will keep you posted.

Hey Guys! Found this thread and realized that I might fall victim to this USCIS --> NVC transfer delay since my case in  TSC has been approved for more than a month now.

So I am trying to anticipate that by making inquiries sooner rather than later. How should I proceed? Do I need to send a msg thru the public inquiry form?

Given their current timeframe it will take at least 60 days until I hear back from them! So then isn't it best for me to just send my inquiry right now so that if my case is not transferred even after 90 days (which is 60 days from now) I can actually expect NVC to follow up with USCIS?

Or is there a way to actually call them or email them and get a quicker response? Or should I contact USCIS (how) and how long will it take for them to reply?

Sorry if these are obvious questions.

@immishok good luck with your application! From the resources I used plus what I have seen here and in other places, the order can be

 - regular NVC inquiry

 - email to NVCresearch@state.gov

 - request to the USCIS ombudsman

 - request to a member of congress

 - writ of mandamus (lawsuit)

I just resorted to the first two before NVC opened my case and some people here have contacted the USCIS ombudsman. I'd say the first two can be contacted after 30 days of delay. The regular inquiries have a long lead time to be answered, which you can check at the NVC page, so you time your request somewhat early. I'd say it is a good idea not to send simultaneous requests. The first requests or requests when the delay is less than 60 days are likely to get boilerplate answers about COVID, etc. but worth nonetheless to document the history of contacts. NVCresearch used to be relatively fast (<1week) to respond, but maybe they are getting a lot of requests and having delays as well. Finally there is the ombudsman which you can try contacting after you did the first two. Some people here got prompt support, others experience more delays.

Hi @Surulere and everybody else! I was catching up with all the posts and then remembered a situation that happened to my case. While I was waiting for my case to be sent to the NVC from the USCIS, I've opened a service request with the TSC. On April 27th (couple weeks after opened) they even told me that my case was sent on April 19th, what unfortunately was proven to not be true - my case only was forwarded to the NVC on July 5th after the Ombudsman intervention.

Hoping for the better, but thinking of all the possible scenarios, I'd advise you to carefully put together all the dates of the inquiries and responses in case you need to take any further actions.

We have some progress too. Got an email from NVC that they have received the petition and will send detailed instructions soon. Looking forward to more good news in next few days. My case status still shows approved.
@Surulere has your case status changed now ?

Thankful for all your help and support so far 🙏.  I know it is anyone's guess, but how long does it usually take to hear back with the welcome letter?

Also does anyone have any idea where to find the latest list immunization needed to be completed before the interview. We have very old records and want to start working on missing vaccinations. Thanks!

That's great new! @JustHopeful. No  my uscis case status is still "case approved."  I received my welcome letter today which is pretty amazing considering the long wait to get to this point!

All the best!
