K-1 holders are only "authorized for work" for the first 90 days of their stay in the USA. After that they need an EAD to continue working or to get a job.

She received her SSN/card yesterday and it says authorized to work.

Are you sure it doesn't say: "Authorized for work only with DHS approval". EAD is the required DHS approval, without that you can't pass the requirement of the I-9 and get a job.

:thumbs: and as you've stated that is only till I-94 expires. after that, an EAD card. is needed to legally work.

Yep, and you can only work for the first 90 days of K-1 if you get the EAD stamp, which you only get at JFK and some border crossings these days.
