He makes well over six figures. More than required.

They submit to CEAC. This is from the visa center.

The same visa center when I gave my visa details and the gentleman said everything looks okay lol.

Sounds like you've done everything right. So, you're just waiting.

Yes, they were. All were approved by NVC before pushed to the embassy.

The only document they want is the 1040 and W2 for 2021.

My joint sponsor taxes for 2019 and 2020 were submitted and cleared

Unfortunately between NVC “ clearance” and interview, time passes and for the interview UPDATED financials ( taxes/ transcripts/ w-2 / paystub)  are a must for Petitioner / Sponsor AND Co-Sponsor and even though they pass NVC, could be deemed insufficient by Consulate.

Some consulates , barely scan the I-864 , yours is particular it seems. So I would definitely email them Your  up to date 2021, W-2 and paycheck…plus up to date ( 2021,  w-2 and paycheck for  Joint Sponsor. ( including copies of what was already uploaded) .
YOU have access to all of this, so shoot out that email and copy your wife.

By the time you talk to them, all you have to say, I have given you EVERYTHING asked for, now give me my wife.

Second, my wife received an e-mail form the embassy with the below:

[X]  Affidavit of Support, I-864 for another Joint Sponsor ( This has already been submitted and paid hence why it is at the embassy now)

[X] IRS Federal tax transcripts or return for the another joint sponsor 2020 or 2021

[X] IRS W-2 for the another joint sponsor 2020 or 2021 of tax year  (2020 was given and in my current NVC file along with 2019 that was given at the interview)

[X] Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident (copy of ppt bio page or green card) for the another joint sponsor (I have this for my affidavit, but wasn't requested after the interview)

This all seems conflicting and overlapping. I don't know why the embassy in Tokyo sent here this. Any ideas?

Last, the embassy before she left her interview gave here a 221g document stating that they just needed line item two and three above. Do not know what they mean by "another". I guess this is a typo. We need to be out of Japan by Sept 18th 2022. If not we will need to do a health check again. Any help will be appreciated.

From now on you take over emailing the consulate and alway c/c your wife.  You can be a little bit of a demanding US citizen , it’s ok . And when you do reach them ask innocently if you should contact your Congressman for help to resolve this..

I am assuming “ another Joint Sponsor “ to mean they did not like the one submitted. Was your Joint sponsor actual IRS transcripts submitted or the 1040 return?

Exactly!!!!   I think OP needs a new, well-qualified joint sponsor.

The Consulate Officer is the approving authority for sponsors, I-864s, etc.   NVC is not the final authority for anything.  The CO has full discretion, and he/she can ask for new documentation.

the embassy said to email these per the 221 G and instructions she recd

do whatever is asked of u or the case will go no further

u may not understand the "why"  but the CO had a reason

there is another member that recently posted he/she was told to scan to CEAC and also to email the documents

If u spoke to someone at NVC they must have approved the documents but the person  u talked to no longer can see your case info

so the following statement is unrealiable

That is EXACTLY what I would do...both....people get too wrapped up in the minor, unimportant things like "overlap"......

Just send what they asked for and save yourself any further headaches. As others have said the NVC has no final say in anything, they are just paper pushers. The CO has final discretion in all decisions, including financial.

Wasn’t the NVC. It was the Embassy visa unit.

Based on what I have collected here, I am just going to submit was asked from on the 221g (this was received after my wife's interview in person). On that it states it states to give most recent W2 from Affidavit.  I have done this as of this morning

Thanks everyone for the input.

u stated

My joint sponsor taxes for 2019 and 2020 were submitted and cleared

the CO wants to have the 2021 tax transcripts as the interview went past the 18th of April

2020 is no longer the most recent year for income
