Hello

I am in the final stretch of getting a K1 visa which has already been confirmed by the US Department of State but has not yet received information about the interview at the embassy, looks like will be Frankfurt.

I want to do a medical examination in advance, because I saw on the forum that there are very long queues in Germany. Please tell me in which clinics in Berlin do this kinda of examination and what is the name of this exact medical test please?

Thanks in advance and good luck to everybody here!

Are you a Ukraine filer? Many clinics (there are only some that are approved to do the exam) will require your case number to proceed, and the exam is then valid for six months from the moment it is done. It is my understanding that even for Ukrainians, interviews are taking over two months from the point the case arrives in Frankfurt. As this is also, roughly, the time it takes for medical nowadays, I would not be terribly concerned with getting it done now.

Nonetheless, if you do have the case number, visit the US Embassy's website for Germany; they should list the approved doctors. Please also feel free to visit the Russia/Ukraine/Belarus sub-forum here on VJ where people are talking about your exact question. There was discussion that some countries outside of Germany 'may' be willing to take your fiancee for medical. There is no real 'name' for the exam; so long as it's an approved doctor, just mention you need a medical exam for a US visa and they'll set you up.

Good luck!

If you are a Ukrainian applicant, Frankfurt consulate allows for you to do your medical examination by a CDC approved physician in any European country. Here is a list of doctors in Germany, you can email them and ask about their availability for appointments: https://www.ustraveldocs.com/de/de-iv-medicalexams.asp#PanelPhysicians. Note that this only applies to Ukrainian applicants - if you're not Ukrainian and are looking to apply through Frankfurt, you are only allowed to do your medical in Germany.

I would say not to worry. I'm not sure how backed up Frankfurt interviews are, but I can only imagine they'd take longer than the time now it takes to schedule medical. If your petition is already in Frankfurt, though, and you're just waiting on instructions, you could give a call to the doctor to see how backed up they are. My point is only that if you're still at NVC, there's not a terrible rush to get the other steps done.

That being said, I'd appreciate other filers who are going to Frankfurt stopping by and letting us know how 'backed up' the embassy is. If Frankfurt is taking Ukrainian applicants within a month of receiving their petitions (highly unlikely), you could just schedule the medical now to be safe. But if they are, as I suspect, taking over 2 months, then you shouldn't feel any urgency.

Good luck!
