Hi all

When case is ready to be scheduled for interview, does that mean it was already sent to the local office?

Or it could still be sitting at MSC. How do we know the local office has the case now?

Thanks

That doesn't mean you'll be interviewed soon. That "ready to be scheduled..." can be there for 1.5 years. Mine was..

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Can the interview still be waived at this point? Especially given recent policy update regarding interview waivers. Really hoping that's a possibility. I filed jointly in November 2020, EAC, transferred to NBC in December 2021 to speed up processing and the most recent update is "ready to be scheduled for an interview" since January this year. Losing patience at this point and I submitted tones of evidence (including birth certificate of our child).

At this point, nobody really knows. At least the policy change could push a lot of cases to be automatically approved without interviews, which would clear up the a huge part of the current backlog.

I hope so.  We filed my wife's case in late March 2019.  It has been "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" since May 2019......still waiting.

We are not too upset.  My wife got an ADIT stamp which she needed when she went to her country for a few weeks.  She is now eligible to file her N-400 under the 5 year rule...which we might do soon.  I check the status every day, hoping that the interview has been waived under the new rule.

I mean, the wait is long but its not as bad as it would be if this was the beginning of our immigration journey doing the CR1 visa. At least my husband is here with me. But the the waiting times are ridiculous.

My wife I-751 was also filed late May 2019 and has been in "Case is ready to be scheduled for interview" since September 2019. Our field location is San Francisco and it has taken a long time but noticed some folks have already completed their process even those who filed later. I thinks maybe there are more delays with specific field locations.

Yes, local offices are the main factor in I-751 interview scheduling.
