"Could not add Case because it is already assigned to a different Online Account Number"?

I filed I-130 online so I have an account number and everything, but we filed the I-485/I-131/I-765 "Concurrently" by mail and received a text message with the receipt numbers for them saying they were received today. I tried to add them to my USCIS Online Account but when I tried, it said they could not be added because they were already associated with another USCIS Online Account Number?

So do we need 2 separate Online accounts to keep track of everything? (One account for the Petitioner's I-130 and one account for the Beneficiary's other 3 cases?) My wife did not create an account, so wondering which account number they are assigned to or if they created one for her.

They send account login information in the mail after you receive paper NOA1s, the applicant (your wife) uses it to create an account and the  I-485/I-764/I -131 cases will be there.

We never got the login information in the mail. What do those papers look like?

We actually still haven't received them yet, checking in the mail every day but nothing yet. I tried calling the USCIS but their automated voice system doesn't let me speak to an agent, and if you keep asking for an agent, it literally tells you they will end the call lol.

Strange. I managed to reach a human at USCIS once. It took a couple of tries and about 15 minutes on hold.

But is it really required that immigrant have an account at USCIS? Or can they just process their paperwork in alternative ways?

For example, you can file an AR-11 for a change of address online without having a myUSCIS account. Apparently. (I say apparently because I haven't tried it myself, and plan to have my wife do it).

I actually just did the change of address a few days ago, my wife and I both have online accounts, but for my profile, it said something along the lines of "Cannot change mailing or physical address at this point of the adjudication" or something like that. So I submitted that AR-11 online (it states not to submit the AR-11 if you have an online account and to do it there instead, but since I wasn't able to from my account, I resorted to this method.) I got an email the next day saying the change was processed and my online account now shows the new address as well.

But to answer your 2nd question, I don't think an online account is necessary, they will continue to process your case with or without one. I believe these accounts are just for your convenience.
