Interview Letter for Ghana Embassy

Has anyone received an interview letter for a case DQ in January 2022? There is nowhere listed that shows the current appt wait time for a CR1 visa for the Accra Embassy. Usual wait time is 3 months but I know that varies depending on the Embassy. I’ve searched and cannot seem to find any info regarding what their current backlog is for immediate relatives. Only non immigrant or family preference info.

Ghana is still in 2020 DQ dates assigning. Last I saw was 18 months from DQ. But like Nigeria they have not sent out IL's since January.

I know they are still in 2020 for other visas but for immediate relative it doesn’t follow the visa bulletin board.. please tell me this is not so.

In October Department of State no longer has to prioritize specific categories like IR/CR which has always been priority 1.
They are allowing embassies to prioritize any category . If they want to give all the interviews to IR5 or F2A that is their right now.
Last IL's I saw for Ghana in January was May/June 2020.

Immediate Relative of USC doesn't follow any Visa Bulletin. And the Visa bulletin is just about the wait till you are Current not the wait till you get an interview. I know many people in varies embassies been current 2 and 3 years still waiting for interview.

It was announced back in October. There is no prioritization of any category. Embassy has full autonomy. Thus why alot of IR/CR interviews for many embassies have not bee happening. It's not a secret pretty well known.

What prioritization are you referring to? and the proof is in the details. No IR/CR's not getting interviews for Ghana and many others heck not many F category's for immediate relatives for that matter. It's like they went dark.

I am only asking where the info is so I can read it, because I have not seen the updates, not that I don’t believe what you are saying or that it’s a big secret. I will find it on my own though. Thank you for your information thus far.

Latest communication on USEM Accra website says they are prioritizing based on priority dates. I think that means they are not prioritizing solely based on who DQ'ed first. It's possible an applicant who had an earlier priority date but got approved by USCIS late and therefore DQ'ed late at NVC could get an interview date before someone who DQ'ed first but with a later priority date. Essentially don't be surprised to come across people who get interview dates before you even though you got through the NVC process first.

So if my understanding is right, for the ACC USEM it will be hard to tell interview schedules based on DQ months solely, without crowdsourcing data based on priority dates and DQ dates.

"Recognizing how this backlog affects all of the thousands of families waiting for reunification, the consular section is not able to approve most requests for expedited IV processing, and instead works to process all cases according to their priority date"

Thanks. That makes sense. My priority date is the beginning of 2021 so maybe we will hear something soon.. then again with the government, especially in Ghana, you never really know.

In the past priority dates didn't mean much when it came immediate family categories but its seems USEM in Accra is utilizing priority dates to process visas, at least for now. Possibly fair in my opinion considering current circumstances.

What has Ghana got to do with this issue? I am just curious.

What is peculiar about the US government operations in Ghana? Or you’re just making things up?
