As we are getting all our i's dotted and all our t's crossed in preparation for the CR-1 interview in Casablanca,

Do we have to include the petitioner's divorce certificate from a previous marriage, or is it all about the applicant at this stage?

Note that we uploaded petitioner's divorce certificate in the ceac portal prior to DQ?

Do we have to submit everything we uploaded in the portal during the interview?

yes

read thru list of Original  documents needed for interview

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/CSB-Casablanca.html

it states to have English translation but if you read the red written statement at top ,  it indicates that is for documents in another language

both petitioner and bene (if divorved) must take originals of these to interview .

BTW the CO probably will not review them but they note when documents are not available and THEN they want to see them

and this embassy is known for making "after the interiew"  documentation

I know it was part of the I-130 package to submit petitioner's divorce certificate, so I guess it does not hurt to include it just in case, since they already have it anyway

Excellent question and as @JeanneAdilindicated : YES. Your case was approved ( USCIS/ NVC) based on the  “ copies” you submitted and now at Consulate, you need to carry the ORIGINALS .

I appreciate the feedback and I am planning to go in with the full package, but I just wanted to discuss, because it is not clear in the instructions page

To verify casa embassy and documents

one VJ member submitted a marriage certificate and the translation to NVC

he had an original but did not send that one to his wife

she went to Rabat and got a new one and had it translated

the translation was not exactly as the one submitted to NVC and the case went into  long 11 month AP for them to submit the husband's certificate and translation  to the embassy and for that to be reviewed

they want  the exact documents scanned to NVC

To be honest, the instructions on NVC and travel.gov are sometimes messed up and vague. Just to be on the safer side, one should bring each and everything that they have submitted to NVC on the day of the interview in order to avoid further delays. Good luck to you!

You have to remember this is not just for marriage based cases but all family-based applications. So, petitioner's divorce certificate would not be required if it is parent petitioning child.
