Hello everyone,

I filed a fiancee visa application I-129 F a dfew month ago, 8 months ago to be precise because I thought back then that it will take 6 months to get a approval. But now 8 months later, it doesn't seem like we will be getting an answer anytime soon. I'm currently planning a trip to spend some times with my fiancee and I was wondering if I should just get married while there and file an I-130 or should we wait for the fiancee visa to go through?

Thanks!!!

You can do that too. Marry and then apply for CR1. Cheaper and The moment ur spouse got The visa and arrive in US, he/she will get GC immediately. Note that it might be a while too if you decide to apply for CR1

They are currently working on I-129Fs submitted in March and April of 2021 so I would (personally) not switch to I-130 now.

Ivory Coast NOA2-Interview also doesn't seem to be very backlogged

If things are the same as the most recent interview your partner will be able to interview 3 months after NOA2. So, maybe another 7 months of waiting before they can move to the US.

If you switch to a spousal visa you will be starting all over again. On average, these visas take 1.5-2 years.

Not a lot of members interviewing out of Ivory Coast so I'm not sure how long the waiting time is from DQ to interview. But, if you are comfortable extending your waiting time by a year or so I would switch to spousal visa
