So basically its been a very long time without any news.

Last thing we heard was our petiton was rec'd at the embassy in the UK. Then nothing.

Its been quite a well and Im scared I havent sent off a form or missed something. ive been very busy and stressed out and now im really scared we are going to have to start over again.

Is this normal? If we have missed something can we start from where we left off or do we need to file all again?

I thought it was just a case of waiting for the medical but its been months and months now. Does it all expire?

please help im so scared and am losing hope :(

I saw on your timeline that you both already got approved back in October!!!!

That does usually not take that long,if something would of been wrong with your petition then you would of got an RFE but you got approved so all is good.

Something must of gone wrong there, maybe it got lost or something of that nature.

You have your old casenumber and I would definatly call to find out something!

Call the USCIS give them the case number, dont go through the automated phone thing just keeping hitting numbers until you talk to a real person. They can put a tracer on it and when they see how long you have been waiting they will look into it.

I assume that the NVC assigned a case number to the petition and sent you a letter confirming that it would be sent to London.

This means that Homeland Security (i.e. the USCIS) is finished with the petition and it is now in the hands of the State Dept. USCIS will know nothing and you need to talk with London since you know that they received it.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

I would definately start making some phone calls. There may be a possibility that your case is under AR, but you need to speak with someone to verify where you are. You probably need to call DOS. 202-663-1225 You can't re-petition until there has been some sort of finalization (for lack of a better word) with your first petition.

Definitely call DOS at the number above. Use menus 1 0 0. Us the case number you have from NVC and ask for the current status.

If the above suggestion garners no results, I'd phone the consulate's phone line, get the 'code' that is needed for sending emails. Then email the embassy and inquire. Beware that the consulate's phone number is a pay number, and its pretty outrageous, so make the call short and sweet - just get the email code. The people who answer that line are actually in Scotland, so they really can't tell you much, but they are handy in giving the code that is needed to email London.

Come visit us in the UK forum for more specific info.
