Got my green card 9 weeks ago but still no social security card in mail.

Hello, 

 

I got my green card through adjustment of status almost 9 weeks ago. I checked the box to get a social security card during the application and when I got my green card was told that I would get it in the mail. It has been 9 weeks and I have yet to receive my social security card in the mail, what do I do?

Most SS offices have opened for in person appointments, or you would still qualify for an in person appointment if it is your first SS card. Call and make an appointment with your local ss office.

Yes I agree with the above post and would suggest you call them asap and make an appointment with your local office. You might have to still wait a few weeks for an available appointment and you can always cancel the appointment if the card turns up in the meantime. (However I would be very surprised if it did after waiting this long.) Good Luck
