I'm going to be going on a 2 week vacation with my wife, and I'm afraid that the biometrics appointment will be on one of the days that we are gone. If does, can I reschedule to a date that's convinient for me? Or do they just give you another date? Anybody know what to do?

06.27.07: Package sent (AOS & EAD)

07.1.07: Package received

07.12.07: NOA for I-130, I-485 & I-765

07.17.07: Biometrics Appointment (went in early)

11.21.07: Interview appointment in downtown Los angeles aproval

12.03.07: Received green card in mail

the last time my husband needed his biometrics there was a note at the bottom of the letter saying if he couldnt make that date he could come in on any wed. after that but before a certain date. i called the info line just to make sure i was reading it right cuz ive never heard of a back up plan with immigration before and they said most service centers have a day where they will take walk-ins and wed. must be the day at our office.

so maybe urs will be the same.

How soon is your vacation? When my husband had his biometrics appointment, we received the notice of the appointment about a month before the appointment date. So you should get the notice date in the mail several weeks before the actual appointment date. What area of CA are you in, southern CA? My husband's biometrics appt. was in El Monte, CA and I know some people rescheduled their appointments there (on the day of my husband's appt) and they were told that their new appointment would be in about 6 weeks.
