Hi there,

My wife had her interview today @US embassy Nairobi, she holds two passports Kenya and Somali but the issue is she got different birth places on them which is worrisome,  do we have any options that can be better outcome like hiring a lawyer at this stage of the process?

thanks much appreciated for your insight.

It's a little bit too late to worry about that now. Was she asked about that at the interview and what did the IO say?

A lawyer won't change a thing at this point.

Reason for 2 different birth dates?

How did she explain this?

Did she explain that in Somali many celebrate January 1st as their birthdate?

an immigration lawyer (US)  would not be any help in Nairobi

u can only hope the embassy understands

but if case is returned to the US  in about 6 months for the discreptancy,  then u may need a US lawyer

She can submit her BC too to try help her case.

Problem is, a lot of Somalis in Kenya hold fraudulent Kenyan PP and IDs. This has been an issue for a long time.

I just hope one PP doesn't say birth place is in Kenya and the other says Somalia. Is this the case here?

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

What is the reason for the discrepancy about birth places? Why did she submit the passport applications if there was an error?? Unfortunately she was the one who applied for the passports so she is responsible for making sure all info is correct before signing and submitting.

If the reason for the discrepancy was fraudulent, there won't be much that can be done.

Look for an immigration attorney that has experience working w Kenya and Somali . As you saw by the immediate reaction here, the go to is “ Fraud!” …for good reason, so you need specialized help to help you PROVE to the Consulate that your wife’s Kenyan and Somalian citizenships were not obtained w fraudulent documents…and most importantly prove her identity.
