Hi everybody-well, we're finally getting things together and have just a few questions. We are filing for: I485, I864, I765, G325AJ (for both of us) & I130. These forms take three checks; do I write 3 seperate checks or one? On the subject of translations, what is required where it says: "...and by the translator's certification that he or she is compentent to translate the foreigh language into English"? Is some kind of documantation required here beyond the notary stamp? And by the way, we married on a tourist visa and yes, we know we could be questioned closely about this but it was spur of the moment, not planned. Thanks for all the help.

Do you mean the I-131 application for travel document??

I just wrote one check for everything we applied for with Claudeth's petition.

If you are interested in saving some money dont apply for advanced parole document unless you are going to go on a trip before your interview. My wife was unable to travel because of pregnancy so I didnt even bother and it probably goes a bit quicker for USCIS one less document or application to deal with.

Yes you are going to have questions especially if the tourist visa expires before your interview.

Right 3 separate checks. It's better.

One for I-130, one for I-485 (385= 325+70 of biométrics), and one for the I-765.

For the translation certification just follow the recommendations of the USCIS. It doesn't need to be notarized you just need to say that you have the capacity to translate, use the form (it's in the guides).

08.2006: Entered with a B-2 visa.

This is not exactly correct, for once, the applications might end up at different places (EAD/AP at a local ofice, AOS at CSC...and..you might want to file for AP at some point because it might take a longer than expected before you get your greencard and then you have to pay the new rate, vs the $170 or $180 (whatever it is) that they charge right now.

I am thinking about applying for AP right now, 7 months later because it seems to take forever at CSC.

As for the translation certification, I think you just need to have a paper that states that whgoever translated it, is well able to do so.

Good luck, I hope the "spur of the moment" won't be an issue later on!

No they mean I-130. I-130 is needed if you're filing from a tourist visa. In any case AP might not be a good idea if they're filing from a tourist visa, so I wouldn't recommending it unless I knew a lot more about the OP's case.

To the OP: You need 3 G325A's. For the I-130: One for the sponsor and one for the benefitiary, and for the I-485: One for the benefitiary. Don't "rationalise" the requirements by assuming you can combine requirements for individual forms.

BTW - I wouldn't advise doing this, write 3 seperate checks, one each for I-485, I-130 and I-765.

Ok everybody, much thanks for the good information; my gut feel was 3 seperate checks and most seem to agree; also, since I am the sponsor we only need two G325A's, me and my wife (unless I'm missing something). And yes, we need the I130 as stated below, thanks to an earlier post we did and received a lot of good advice. Honestly, I don't know where we would be withour all of our friends here; we can't believe we're actually going to get this sucker in the mail this week-hooray!!! Now I can post a timeline that actually means something.

Love 'ya all-JimandBetty

I went back and reread the instructions and of course you are right; thank you for your persistence. I would probably have caught it as I was doing my last check but this is a big help!!

Jim T.

Did you read my post? You need 3 G325As. 2 for the I-130 and 1 for the I-485. I realise that it is duplication, but those are the requirements.
