Hello! When is the right time to take the RT PCR or antigen test? My flight to Manila from US starts from Houston to Los Angeles - Los Angeles to NAIA . Is the 24/48hrs based on Houston or Los Angeles? Does anyone here traveled to Ph recently who have same itinerary like me?

Depends on how you booked your flight.

If you booked it all on a single itinerary: Houston-Los Angeles-Manila, then time your test using your departure date/time from Houston.

Be more careful if you booked your domestic flight and international flight separately. Someone I know made this mistake: booked a domestic flight Memphis-Atlanta, stayed overnight in Atlanta, and booked a separate flight Atlanta-Incheon-Manila. He thought the test he took in Memphis would meet the requirements but it was rejected by the airline because he took his test too early. He ended up needing another test and rebooking his international flight.

In any case, the 15 minute antigen test solves these timing issues. Go to Houston airport a bit early and get the antigen test done a few hours before your flight. I'm sure you can find a testing center inside or near Houston Airport that can quickly issue official-looking test results valid for international travel.

If you split your ticket and need a test at LAX, there is testing in LAX.  It says there are 3 locations within the airport and then goes on to list two:

This is one booking only. I just want to know who have the same experience. I know there are some kiosk in the airport where I can take the test but I want to take the test before my flight to make sure everything is ready when I get to the airport. I don’t want to take the risk of getting false positive result in the airport.

Thanks for your reply.

Then your options are to go CVS, med clinic, or other other testing site 48 hours before your Houston flight for the PCR test or go do the antigen test 24 hours before.

Its that or the airport.

Some Googlefu:
