I doubt that our packet was well put together...I mean I don’t want to go thru the whole interview process but if we have to I have nothing to fear we went to Juarez in Mexico for her interview I don’t want to go thru that again..I know the interview would be inside the USA tho

Just noticed that you're a CR-1. The absolut majority, if not all, CR-1 end up at MSC immediately. So they must have made a mistake in your case and sent your petition to CSC first, and that's where they realized your case belongs at NBC (MSC) instead. No wonder it was transferred very soon after you filed. The people at the lockbox routed your petition to the wrong service center.

Nowadays it seems like everyone who hasn't been interviewed INSIDE the US before, will get an interview for ROC. Those of us who had an interview inside the US for AOS are likely to not be interviewed for ROC (unless it's a red flag case or you can't produce enough evidence).

I have absolutely no idea, since you guys will have an interview it's all based on your local field office and their processing times. It has nothing to do with a service center in your case. Some field offices are super fast while others are super slow.

Cases that get an interview are immediately sent to NBC (MSC), or transferred to NBC at a later stage. Your case will only be transferred to NBC from your current service center if you fail to respond correctly to any RFE your service center may send you. If you respond with what they ask for, you don't get an interview.

This is the first time I hear that a WAC receipt would not get an interview unless later on transferred to NBC.

I guess you are saying if they already thought your case needs an interview, they would have processed you in/as MSC directly?

But one can also say that what receipt you get is just random, it doesn't necessarily mean less chance of having to interview?

How about those with an MSC receipt but got approved without an interview?

What are the characters of a red flag case? Divorce/ waiver filing?

Divorce decree - submit ASAP, or wait for RFE?

Lawyer I talked to before told me to wait for RFE.

I am reading the extension letter again, and it says "If you have not done so, provide supporting documents to help USCIS process your petition and to establlish your eligibility to remove the condition on your permanent  residence. Please include a copy of this receipt notice with any supporting documents you submit."

Would sending decree initiatively helps speed up the case? Letting them know divorce is final and nothing else is pending?

Thoughts?

not sure if that will speed up the process (the process speed depends on your local office), but if you provide the divorce final, it would lower the chance you get REF

Hello Everyone,

We applied to remove conditions on GC on May 13th 2019 (application received by USCIS) .My three year mark will complete in mid of April this year (in next couple of months). I would like to apply for N-400 as soon as I become eligible (in April 2020) is there any con’s doing it while I-751 is still pending? Does applying for citizenship speed up the Adjudication for I-751 ? On fair estimate how long does it take to get decision on my N-400 ? Will they adjudicate both at the same time??

Hello just to be safe it might be good to have your original letter with you. I fly for work and every time i come back into country have no problem but two of the agents said I need to have the original letter rather than a photocopy. Just to be safe I would have it with you.

the  original is getting loads of wear and tear lol

I've been trying to figure this out myself and have been following these two threads to try and get an answer:

https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/651896-n-400-and-i-751-combo-pending/ [closed]

https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/725477-n-400-and-i-751-combo-pending-part-2/

Following these threads, my opinion is that the right move is to follow for N-400 as soon as you are eligible even if there is no movement on your I-751, but as always YMMV. Good luck!

Question on Biometrics-

my wife filed I751 in early May 2019 and we received the NOA promptly a few weeks later extending her green card for 18 months.  We are concerned that we still haven't received a Biometrics appointment letter now 9 months later.  Called the service center and were told the appointment notice was not yet sent out and should continue to wait for the notice in the mail. Should we be concerned?  Looking at May 2019 timelines, most filers through the California service center have received their biometrics appointment letter months ago.
